TDK a prezentat doua discuri noi (deocamdata in stare de concept) la Consumer Electronics Show 2007.
Dupa calcule, varianta pe 8 straturi a discului Blu-ray BD-R care va avea o capacitate de 200 Gb va putea stoca 18 ore de video de inalta rezolutie (24 mbps).
TDK a mai prezentat un disc mini-Blu-ray, cu o capacitate de 7.5 Gb, in varianta writeable si rewritable, destinate in special camerelor video digitale de noua generatie.?
Discurile double-layer BD-R si BD-RE (cu o capacitate de 50Gb)? vor fi disponibile in prima parte din 2007. Inca nu se stie de cand si la ce pret se vor vinde noile discuri prezentate acum.
